Twice the Boogie in Bodmin!

Thanks to the success of our first Boogie and Brush sessions in Bodmin. We are increasing to twice a week! Yes, you read that right as of Wednesday 8th April we will be running Boogie and Brush every week on Wednesdays as well as Fridays! This we couldn't do without all the amazing support from our fabulous children and parents/guardians and of course our amazing session leaders!

Blokes & Brushstrokes

A relaxed, men-only creative wellbeing group starting up in St Blazey!

It’s a pressure-free space where men can sit alongside each other, paint, create, have a cuppa, and talk β€” or not talk at all. There’s no expectation to be artistic, no pressure to share, and no judgement.

The sessions are about connection, not perfection. About reducing isolation, improving mental wellbeing, and creating a safe, welcoming environment where men can simply show up as themselves.

  • No art skills needed.
  • No fixing.
  • Just space, creativity, and community.

Run by Sarah Barker Art Studios CIC, supporting inclusive creative wellbeing across Cornwall.

Blokes and Brushstrokes Launch!

In 2026 we are launching our Blokes and Brushstrokes programme, a creative self-expression experience for men's mental health. Whatever their mental health, this is your time to kick back, grab a beer and express. But it doesn't need to be the usual "and how are we feeling today?", "what makes you think that?". It can stay between you, a brush and a piece of paper! In various locations across Cornwall, we want to build a support network that isn't just Britain Get Talking because the last thing I want to do if I'm angry, upset or fed up is talk! Britain Get Talking is great if you feel able to talk and while I am not a man (at least last time I checked!) I hate talking especially about how I feel. So to do this we need the help of fantastic men who are good listening, laid back but has initiative to take charge of a situation if needed. If you this this is you, get in touch!

Thank You!

We would like to take a moment to say a MASSIVE thank you to National Lottery Awards For All for believing in us and our project and awarding us with Β£18,000! This means so much to us and enables us to grow and reavh more audiences with Boogie and Brush. It also gives us chance to look after our staff the way we want to and to develop all round!

Thank You!

Tamar Trading were so kind in awarding us with Β£100 towards supplies for our sessions which enabled us to create aa more inclusive and adaptable environment in our sessions! So thank you so much for all your help.
